Working Process
To build that third layer, the Twin Extruder 3-Layer Bubble Wrap Film Machine uses two separate single-screw extruders working in sequence rather than one system doing everything. The primary extruder handles the first stage, extruding the raw material into the bubble film structure. The secondary extruder then takes that bubble film and laminates a third layer of PE film onto it, bonding the two together into one finished three-layer sheet.
The finished film coming off this line isn't a generic plastic wrap — it's built with specific protective properties in mind: it's impact-resistant, moisture-proof, and shock-resistant, along with being non-toxic and odorless, and it holds up reasonably well against heat and corrosion while staying transparent enough to see through the packaging. Beyond the two extruders, the full production line includes a forming unit that shapes the bubble pattern, a winding unit that rolls the finished film, and an electronic control system running the whole sequence.
Core Functions
1. Extrudes bubble film through a primary single-screw extruder as the base layer
2. Laminates a third PE film layer onto the bubble film using a secondary single-screw extruder
3. Produces a finished 3-layer film with combined bubble cushioning and added surface protection
4. Delivers moisture resistance, shock absorption, impact resistance, and heat resistance in one film
5. Maintains transparency in the finished film despite the added third layer
6. Forms, winds, and controls the entire production sequence through connected forming, winding, and electronic control units
Solutions for Challenges
Standard bubble wrap not providing enough protection for heavier or fragile items. Two-layer film has limits — for furniture, glassware, or auto parts, the added third laminated layer gives more cushioning margin and impact resistance than standard bubble wrap can offer.
Needing moisture resistance alongside impact protection. Some packaging films handle impact but not humidity, or vice versa. This film is built to handle both moisture resistance and shock absorption in the same product.
Wanting a distinct packaging product for brand differentiation. Producing the same two-layer bubble wrap as every other supplier makes it hard to stand out. A three-layer film gives private label and own-brand buyers a genuinely different product tier to offer.
Balancing packaging cost against product damage risk. For high-value or fragile shipments, underprotecting with standard film can cost more in damage claims and returns than the extra material cost of a third layer would have.
